The Peace Movement
John Lennon strongly believed in the idea of peace. He and his wife Yoko Ono took a very active role protesting against the Vietnam War. The couple would often host "Bed-Ins for Peace" in Montreal and Amsterdam. During their stay in Montreal John Lennon wrote the song "Give Peace a Chance" which would become the unofficial anthem song against the war. The song would later be sang by peace supporters on the second Vietnam Moratorium Day, proving the influence that John Lennon had. John Lennon would later write the song " Imagine" which would also become an anti-war song. He would not only be remembered for his role in The Beatles but his envelopment with the peace rallies and activist movements he participated in.
